Tuesday 9th February 2016 - Pennington Flash

Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea)

A brief visit to Pennington Flash. About 8 herons could be seen from the Tom Edmondson hide, some of which were in breeding plumage.











 

Ramsdale Reedbeds

At least one bittern had been seen in the past couple of days, particularly in the reeds near Teal Hide. Could well have been more hidden in the extensive Ramsdale Reedbeds, although local birders would likely have known if there had been.
