An unexpected visitor to our garden this summer is this Giant Puffball (
Calvatia gigantea). We did have one elsewhere last year, but didn't spot it until too late to eat it. This time, after removing the slugs, cutting into steaks and frying with garlic, it provided the focus of our evening meal.
